Exercise 7 - Lower Hand Cuts (Full Exercise)

1. This is the full version of the exercise from the video.
2. Again use your 'A Cut' for all the notes on your Lower Hand.

Exercises 8 & 9 - Walking Our C# & C Natural Exercise

1. Ex. 8 is the full version of 'Walking Our C#' from the video.
2. There's no rush with these! Moving between 'C natural' & B alone can be quite challenging to master.

*** Don't forget your metronome - 70bpm to 120bpm and beyond, if your feeling it!

Unlocking Staff Notation:

A) The First Octave (8ve)

• Now we've covered all the notes in the first octave
• Here they are in order ascending from Bottom D to High D,

D E F# G A B C# D'

• Now have a look at the examples below. The notes from G Descending & Ascending plus D to D' (High D).
• Note how the sharp sign (#) is written before the note always, even though you'd call it as 'C sharp', for example.

Now try writing in the letter names in the following exercises:
